Job description

We at PRONOVIAS GROUP, Global leader in the Bridal industry, is looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Team in our Barcelona HQ.

Reporting to the Accounting & Tax Manager, the Accountant will be performing general accounting & tax activities for Spanish and foreign subsidiaries.

Among others, the main responsibilities will be:

  • Ensure that data is accurate and complies with generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Responsible for the month end closing tasks, reviewing the P&L and BS. With appropriate supporting documentation, prepare journal entries relating to amortisation, depreciation, accruals, deferrals, reclass, intercompanies entries and a variety of other information.
  • Analyse financial information and ensure that data supports budgeting requirements and provide solutions to control issues.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations: analyse and reconcile balance sheet accounts to make sure that entries and balances are correct.
  • Prepare and present tax declarations.
  • Support the annual audits.
  • Responsible for on the job training and developing junior colleagues.
  • Propose improvements projects to implement optimised processes in the Accounting & Tax team.
  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings and projects.
  • Document accounting processes and policies.

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting in an international work environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Spanish GAAP. Other GAAPs will be valued.
  • Solid knowledge of Spanish taxation system. Other taxation systems will be valued.
  • Good MS Excel skills, experience with ERP systems.
  • Advanced English and Spanish. Other languages will be valued.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, creating an environment allowing timely information flows throughout the organization.
  • At ease in an environment of change; supports, manages and initiates change within the organization.
  • Capable of generating, improving, maintaining, and documenting processes and ensuring quality results.
  • Good organizational and analytical skills with a hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced team environment.
